This week we look at what is the best pistol/suppressor combination: the Heckler & Koch MARK 23 (MK 23) pistol and the Knight's Armament MK23 suppressor. Let's take a look at why the H&K and KAC MK23 set is a must-have for silent fans.

Not a big fan of Metal Gear Solid (I'm fine), the manager of the H&K gun club segment (the cost involved) or even a fan of the .45 ACP cartridge itself (the 9mm is the only real king of guns. ), I never gave the H&K MARK 23 much thought. Until now. As we quickly approach the 200th episode of Silencer Saturday, I have decided that members of the H&K and KAC MK23 pack are a must. And I haven't been happy with a new gun and shooter in a long time.

Both the MARK 23 rifle and the KAC MK23 suppressor are limited edition and not "dealer" type items. I've used the word end of the world to describe it in the past, but the H&K and KAC MK23 are the epitome of power and durability. So much to match right out of the box and capable of crazy shooting, the MK23 sets a standard that other guns and shooters can only dream of reaching.
Development / Evaluation of the H&K MK23 During the test, the MK 23 pistol met the highest performance and accuracy that should be requested of a gun. The only rifle/collision combinations that come close to the sight are the H&K MP5SD, the MK12 SPR with the Allen Engineering AEM5, the MAC 10 with the Sonics suppressor and maybe the Beretta pistol with the KAC Hush Puppy slide lock. The KAC MK23 dimples found on their other counters like the KAC MP5 and MP5SD are a dead giveaway. Whether the H&K MK23 with KAC suppressor found its way into movies, TV shows and movies because of its performance or its popularity is unknown. But I'd bet that Hollywood helped sell more MK23 rifles than SOCOM personnel.
One of my favorite things to use for MK23 - There is no free lunch. If you want the most accurate combination, the most reliable reliability, and the explosive design, it will come at a price. Weighing in at 3.5 pounds and measuring nearly a foot and a half in length, the MK23 is a beast of a body. No one outside of SHAQ's portfolio continues to carry the H&K MK23. And at $2,500 for the rifle and ~$1,500 for the shooter, the package is expensive before adding the light/laser, ammo, holster and other accessories.

The baffle design is unique compared to the current cone/K baffle combination. The KAC MK23 suppressor seems to be distributed with humps at the center of the capacity and runs to the balance of the line.
The only part of the KAC MK23 suppressor that seems to help is the o-ring inside the piston.
My main concern about pulling the trigger on the duo for the first time is managing expectations. If the expectation and design of the icon set is too good, the results can be lost. Fortunately, that is not the case - the MARK 23 with the KAC target design for the rifle is now one of the coolest rifles I own. No, it's not the quietest gun, but it is quiet. The bell rings at 50 yards with 230 rounds per round leaving a thump/thwack that you can almost hear.
The double action that makes the download is long and deep, but it's amazing. And one download is heavenly smooth. The size and weight of this combo makes the recoil controllable, allowing for quick shots. I have an M16x1 RH piston for a SilencerCo Octane 45HD and we will do a head to head comparison next week (relax, I've only had the gun for two days).
